Disappointment with patterns.

This is why I rarely pay for a pattern, unless it is already well tested, and users aren't sending in complaints.
I bought this cute little amigurumi octopus pattern, with plans of making dozens of them and hanging them from my ceiling.
The pattern is absolutely atrocious. Pics are bad, instructions are the vaguest of vague.
I am having to completely re-write the pattern in order for it to make any sense at all.
There is a disclaimer on the pattern that I may not sell items made from it...well, don't you worry honey buns, I can't even make your pattern work, so I will make it my own and sell as I see fit.
I MIGHT even re-write the pattern and offer it to people.
